Choose how deep: pages of 20 posts from the original post, up to 200. X is $1.05 a page (3 units) and Bluesky $0.35 a page (1 unit). Every video and image in the thread is analyzed, each video up to its first 10 minutes: 1 unit per video per started 5 minutes and usually 1 unit for all its images (more for an unusually large or detailed set), billed on what the thread carries (on a plan, Media in analysis off in Account skips them). If the thread's original post quotes or clips someone, Context Clues checks the words against their source on the same bill: 1 unit, plus 1 when it listens to the speaker's own video. Linked pages are read only for Pro and Power subscribers. Without a subscription it is one card charge when the capture and any Context Clues check are done (minimum $2.49 on X, $1.99 on Bluesky, which media and Context Clues units fill first); with one, the units go on your monthly pay-as-you-go total with no minimum.
Deep Capture is always pay-as-you-go: it never uses a plan's monthly units.

Why usage-based?
Every analysis runs a full AI pass over the whole thread: classification, rhetoric, and fact-checking. Charging a flat fee would either overprice light users or lose money on heavy ones. So Plus works like the AI tools you already pay for: a generous monthly allotment, then a small, transparent rate for anything beyond it.

Use more and it's $0.35 per extra unit. Pay-as-you-go is collected in $5 batches: we charge your card each time it adds up to $5, never one unit at a time, and any smaller balance is settled at renewal or when you cancel. You always see your usage for the month.

What is a unit?
A unit covers 20 posts run through the full TrueMantis pipeline: sentence-level Periodic Legend classification, rhetoric breakdown, discourse scoring, and fact-checking. When our server reads an X thread (an @mention), every 20 posts read add 2 more units, because X charges us for those reads, so an X @mention of up to 20 posts is 3 units. Bluesky and the browser extension are 1 unit per 20 posts: the extension reads the thread from your own browser session. A Spot Check, a claim re-check, a fresh fact-check re-check (Power), a video's started 5 minutes and a thread's images are 1 unit each. On Pro and Power, each linked page we read is 1 unit (up to 2 a capture; you can switch this off in Account). When a post quotes someone or shares a clip, Context Clues checks the words against the original: 1 unit, plus 1 more when it listens to the speaker's own video, and your page says what it used. A Retry after a failed fact check, and re-opening a saved analysis, are always free.
What happens after my monthly units?
Nothing breaks. You keep going at $0.35 per extra unit for the rest of the month, on every paid tier. Pay-as-you-go is charged in $5 batches (each time it adds up to $5), never one unit at a time; a smaller balance is settled at renewal or when you cancel. Your units reset at the start of each month, Account shows exactly what you've used and owe at any time, and we email a statement for any month that goes past your plan.
Why is everything billed annually?
They're built for people who use TrueMantis every week. Billing once a year is also what makes these prices possible: card fees take a fixed cut of every charge, so twelve small charges cost far more to process than one. Plus starts at $0.99/mo billed annually ($11.88/yr), and the annual price is what makes 20 and 30 monthly units possible at $3.90 and $5.75 a month.
Is the free tier really free?
Yes. A free account includes 2 captures by @mention or the extension, once per email address, and an @mention from an X or Bluesky handle without an account gets 1 (link that handle to a free account for 1 more). Every capture gets full sentence highlighting and the Periodic Legend, and anyone can read every public archived analysis and the Fact-Check Vault, export and share. Signed-in accounts never see ads. Saving threads to your Argument Library starts on Plus, and Discourse Intelligence and Discussion DNA on your own captures are part of Pro (Discourse Intelligence and Discussion DNA are free for everyone during launch).
Can I set a monthly spending limit?
Yes. A monthly spending limit you control from your Account page, so pay-as-you-go never means an unexpected bill. If you hit your limit, anything that needs extra units pauses until next month or until you raise it. A subscriber's Deep Capture goes on the same pay-as-you-go total, so it counts toward the limit; without a subscription, each Deep Capture shows its price before you submit it and is charged once.
Is tax included?
Prices are shown before tax. If sales tax or VAT applies where you live, it is added at checkout and itemized on your receipt; otherwise you pay exactly the listed price.
Can I cancel anytime?
Anytime. You keep your plan’s features through the end of your billing period, and your exported analyses are always yours.
What happens to extra units if I cancel?
Your monthly units stay yours until the period you paid for ends, and extra units switch off immediately so nothing more can accrue. If you'd already used extra units beyond your plan that month, that amount is charged once to your saved card when you cancel, since there's no renewal left to put it on. It's a single closing charge for what you actually used, never recurring, and it isn't refunded if you later resubscribe, since that usage was delivered. Very small balances are simply written off rather than charged.
